Mission Statement
To encourage the selective breeding of Golden Retrievers that possess the
soundness, temperament, natural abilities and personality, as described in the
breed standard, and to do all possible to bring their natural abilities and
qualities to perfection;
To urge members and
breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American
Kennel Club and the Golden Retriever Club of America as the only standard of
excellence by which the Golden Retriever shall be judged;
To protect and advance
the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog
shows, field trials, tracking tests and obedience trials;
To conduct sanctioned
matches and specialty shows, field trials, tracking tests and obedience
trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club;
To educate members and
the public in the selection, care, training and responsible breeding of
Golden Retrievers.

Meetings
The PRGRCO meets every third Wednesday evening at 7 pm, usually in Salem. An
annual awards banquet and election/installation of officers and Board members is
held in April of each year. The Club schedules educational forums with the
meetings whenever possible. (Back

Membership
Each applicant must be sponsored by a Club member in good standing, who shall,
if possible, introduce the applicant at a general meeting. membership
applications can be obtained from the Membership Chair, the current

Newsletter
The "Lewis and Bark Retrieve" is published 6 times a year. Copy and ad
deadlines are the 20th of the month preceding publication. The current editor is
